The ground in front of the stage became very muddy during the hard rain which fell during the first night's performances. An attempt to improve the situation was made the next afternoon when some of the mud was removed and loads of sand were brought in. This probably helped, but the central audience area remained wet and muddy. We stayed relatively clean by sitting on a tarp on a little rise just outside the mud.
